SKILLS DEVELOPMENT-“Play
with Flair”
Our number 1 priority at SABA is the ability to teach each
player the skills necessary to handle the ball and show
creativity. SABA players are encouraged to play with flair,
regardless of position. Without technique, there is no tactics.
All players are exposed to SABA’s proven methods using
fast-footwork and skills concepts.
TACTICAL KNOWLEDGE
Once they learn how to handle the ball and play with skill, the player needs to know what to do with the ball. “Should I pass, shoot, continue to dribble, play a give and go?” These are all part of tactical concepts that need to be understood. Our staff’s knowledge of the game will help each player develop tactical concepts in a small group and team setting. Our teaching methods will not overload players with information. Coaches implement training sessions that are progressive in order to meet goals and objectives.
MENTORING
We foster an environment where older players become role models for younger players. Individuals are often seen demonstrating a skill, pointing out a coaching concept, or just chatting with a younger player. We strive to have all Academy players working together to enhance the program and the community. Our mentoring program helps develop “skills for Life.”
