Gustavo Mora joins the SABA staff after a successful career at Rutgers University . A native of Asuncion, Paraguay, Gustavo was a standout attacking midfielder in the Big East. His skillful play also earned him National recognition as a freshman.
Rutgers Highlights:
Tied for third in the BIG EAST in assists.
Was named one of the nation's top freshman performers by College Soccer News. As a senior starter, Gustavo tied for fourth on the team in scoring.
Scholastic/Personal:
Played at nationally recognized St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, NJ. Earned First Team All-State honors while helping St. Benedict's to a 21-0-2 record in 2000... Tallied 40 goals and 12 assists as a senior. Also earned First Team All-County honors... Helped St. Benedict's to a 92 match unbeaten streak during his career.
Gustavo was also recognized for his work off the field, earning the George Dochat Award for Sportsmanship. This award is handed out to the player whose character, both on and off the field, best exemplifies the virtues of courage, honor, and fair play.
SABA players will benefit from Gustavo's ability to instill character and sportsmanship while developing skill.
