Training in Brooklyn began in the fall of 2000 when Harry Triana began working with the Raiders. Quality and Results have enabled SABA to gain a reputation as an organization making great strides in the community. SABA is developing some of the finest players in the area. In addition to the girls' teams training full-time in Brooklyn, Harry Triana has merged with Gjoa and is the club’s Director of Coaching. Gjoa (pronounced yoa) has a rich history in Brooklyn, with over 95 years in the community.
Under SABA's guidance, the Gjoa Club gained tremendous popularity in just one year. In 2006, there was one U8 team playing under the Gjoa banner. Entering the Spring 2009 season, there are now 11 teams playing in the CJSL under the Gjoa banner. The Rebels play in Long Island Junior and the Rockets are now playing in ENY PREMIERE. There are a total of 13 teams trained and coached in the Academy for the Spring 09 season.
