WHO MAKES UP SGA?

Currently, the SGA program has over 80 girls training at Red Hook and playing travel soccer in the JSS league and Long Island Junior soccer league. Girls teams are made up of U8 through u13 girls. In addition, there are young girls developing in our kinder kicks groups, preparing to possibly represent one of our future travel teams.

WHAT DO THE CURRENT GIRLS ASPIRE
TO REPRESENT?

The goal of our SABA GIRLS ACADEMY is to carry on the tradition started by the former SABA Raiders back in 2001. The Raiders set the foundation for future Brooklyn girls at SABA. The Raiders were a close-knit group of Brooklyn girls who went on to capture several Long Island Junior Soccer League titles and a Walbaum’s Cup Title. Along the way, they traveled to top tournaments in the region and played at the USA cup in Minnesota. The Raiders also played in the Northeast Premiere League as well as the Super Y league, becoming the first girls team to represent Met Oval in the Super Y league.  The Raiders paved the way for other girls teams from Brooklyn. The Rampage, Rockets, and Rebels all carried on the legacy of the Raiders by training and playing year round under the SABA curriculum.

Our new girls in the program will aim to represent SABA in the same capacity as all our former girls who are now playing in college and professionally.

“ALL INCLUSIVE” ENVIRONMENT FOR PARENTS:

Parent Coordinators from our girls teams have organized events that include all the SABA girls teams. Recently, over 50 girls from various teams took in a sky blue game. Our girls teams were also special guests at a Women’s National Team even, right before the World Cup.

Players and parents who join SGA will feel like they are a part of something bigger and more rewarding then just one team.
